Maghull Art Group was established in 1970 by a small group of enthusiastic local artists, and has since grown to its current size of  about 100 members.

This thriving club has always had a connection with Deyes High School and in recent years has cemented this relationship by presenting a cup, certificates and book tokens to pupils who have shown outstanding achievement in art during the current year.

We meet on the 1st Friday of each month in the 6th form block at Deyes High School. Meetings start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm with a break for refreshments and a chat during the evening. The meetings are demonstration based with artists, both local and national, as guest speakers covering topics ranging from how to make brushes to portrait painting in oils or wildlife art in gouache. See our current programme for more information.

Every Tuesday 10am – 12 noon at St Peter’s Church hall Moorhey Rd. Maghull we have a painting workshop where members come along with their own work to paint in a friendly environment and help each other. (£2 per session)

We hold two exhibitions of members’ art each year, in June and November when all members are encouraged to exhibit and sell their work, with trophies presented for various categories in November.

Please feel free to contact one of the committee members below or email us if you would like more information.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly group and welcome guests (£2 visitors fee members £12) and new members regardless of artistic ability.

Any inquiries should be directed to Mrs. Di Pearson 0151 526 3411 or Mrs M Curtis 0151 933 0132.
