Maghull Town Hall Art and Photography Competition
THEME –“All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small”

Following a meeting with the interim Town Clerk please note the following changes :-
Entrants may submit FRAMED paintings
You may enter one item in each of the painting and the photography categories.
The hanging and security of the paintings is under discussion and will be improved from last year.
Please enter this event and support our local council for their efforts in supporting local art.

COMMUNITY AWARD
M.A.G. has received a “community Heroes” award from the Trinity group of local papers (Star Etc)
In recognition of our efforts to make art accessible to local people and our contributions to local charities.
This award was presented to some of our members at a special awards evening at Southport Theatre last month. See the notice board for the photo. IGNORE the article about us which is wrong and will hopefully be corrected in next week’s paper.

I would like to put in a request for any old and unwanted binoculars that I could take to Africa to give to training safari guides.

Sheila has put together a great programme for the coming year and this is now available to you when you pay your subs.
Don’t forget to check our web site - log on and get our up to date news – well some of it! A useful way to announce cancelled or changed meetings etc.!
WEEKLY WORKSHOP
Our Tuesday morning painting morning is proving popular with a regular attendance of 12 – 15 members coming along to paint and exchange ideas and advice.
This is for ANY member to come along and paint, no commitment or booking necessary.
Only £2 from 10am – 12 noon on a Tuesday at St. Peter’s Church Hall, Moorhey Rd. Maghull. (Opp. Hudson Primary School.)
DVDs FOR LOAN
These are unedited copies of our monthly demonstrations so you will need to use the fast forward button in places but i think they are worth looking at again, even more so if you missed the meeting. They can be played on computer or TV but can not be copied or altered and are for club members use only please. The DVD box is at the back of the room and i would ask that you sign the book that is with them and leave £1 in the tin to help cover the costs of the disks. Don't forget to return them at the next meeting.
